Gathering Limits Reduced in Toronto, Peel and Residential Rent Freeze in 2021

Image
Gathering Limits Reduced in Toronto, Peel and Residential Rent Freeze in 2021   Gathering Limits Rolled Back Starting Friday, September 18, social gathering and public event limits are being rolled back in Toronto, Peel Region and Ottawa to 10 people indoors (from 50) and 25 outdoors (from 100), including open houses. These three areas have been seen as "hot spots" for the recent spike in COVID-19 numbers. These new limits will apply to functions, parties, dinners, gatherings, BBQs or wedding receptions held in private residences, backyards, parks and other recreational areas. The rest of the province will continue to have limits set at 50 indoors and 100 outdoors. The new rules will not apply to events or gatherings held in "staffed businesses" or facilities such as movie theatres, banquet halls, gyms or convention centres. Those facilities can still have 50 people indoors as long as people maintain proper physical distance from anyone outside their 10-person

STAY POSITIVE, SALE PRICES ARE HOLDING

STAY POSITIVE, SALE PRICES ARE HOLDING It’s been roughly a month since the Coronavirus flipped our lives upside down. The media has, somewhat sensationally, publicized the real estate market’s dip, leaving many sellers stressed and stretched and wishing for this pandemic to end. We’ve been analyzing the data to find the positives, and there is some good news to share. As of last week, in most municipalities, listings are still selling at or above 2019 prices as compared to the same time last year. We’re sharing both year on year (YoY) percentage change across listing volumes and selling prices, so you have what you need to educate and uplift your leads and clients. I am posting Peel here for example. Heres the rest of them, Dufferin Durham Halton Peel Toronto York Sadly, over the next few months, things may continue to get worse, but we’ll keep analyzing the data so you can try to make things a little better for your leads and clients.

Real estate is an essential service, but it's NOT "business as usual"

Message from RECO. Real estate is an essential service, but it's NOT "business as usual" The Government of Ontario ordered all non-essential businesses to close by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The government published exceptions to this order in their  list of essential workplaces . Notably, the government has deemed real estate an essential service. In short, the government has signaled that real estate trades may continue. But that doesn't mean a return to "business as usual." Ontario remains under a state of emergency, and registrants have a duty to follow the direction of health officials to minimize direct physical interaction. Embracing digital technology is essential in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Earlier this week, RECO released  updated guidance on open houses and showings . In particular, RECO strongly recommended that brokerages and salespeople follow the direction of he
